Grinding
Anders-Paul has been with Goldschmidt for five years. Starting as a grinder helper at our location Goldschmidt Thermit Railservice in Austria, he went on to completed training to become a fully qualified Grinder. He maintains rail networks for customers throughout Europe.
Being able to contribute to the maintenance of tracks with my work motivates me. The work as a Grinder is physically demanding, but also varied. I work with various grinding devices and then check my work with different measuring instruments. What I find most exciting is working at different locations throughout Europe, such as in Hungary, the Czech Republic or Austria.
At Goldschmidt I have opportunities to develop myself. I was able to train from a grinder’s helper to a Grinder, learned about measuring technology and welding, and got my truck driver’s license.
Thanks to the right work material and the cooperation with my colleagues, I can master any challenge. I appreciate the collegial culture within the company. The rule is always: one for all, all for one.
