Global IP Management
Shih-Chen joined Goldschmidt in 2019. He works as Global IP Manager at Goldschmidt Holding in Leipzig. In this role, he supports the group companies in various IP matters.
My role as IP Manager moves between technology and law. I protect our innovations and monitor the patents of other market players. When writing a patent, I enjoy transforming abstract technological ideas into legal text and brainstorming with the engineers about products to ensure that the patent is broad enough to cover all variations. The IP Management department is also the first point of contact when it comes to possible IP infringements by other market players.
The most exciting aspect of my work is translating the engineers’ innovative ideas into legal formulations. I also enjoy exchanging ideas about our innovations with the examiners at the patent offices.
The Goldschmidt Group contributes to the safety, sustainability, and longevity of rail transport around the world. I am pleased to be able to contribute to this important industry.
